MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: USAT), ("USAT"), a leader of wireless,
cashless payment and machine to machine (M2M) telemetry solutions for
small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries, has expanded its cashless
payment and M2M services in the kiosk market with electric vehicle
stations sold by existing customer, Eaton Corporation ("Eaton"). Eaton,
whose AC Level 2 Electric Vehicle charging stations already include an
option for USAT's ePort® technology for secure, cashless payment
acceptance, has recently added their new, high-powered DC
Quick Charger to this cashless lineup.
Eaton is a leader in the establishment of public electric vehicle
charging infrastructure in North America and continues to expand its
North American footprint. According to Eaton's website, its DC
Quick Charger provides fast and convenient electric vehicle charging
with the ability to charge a vehicle's battery to 80 percent capacity in
as little as 30 minutes. Using USAT's ePort technology, Eaton's latest DC
Quick Charger now includes an option for magnetic credit card swipe
acceptance and offers consumers the opportunity to pay through
time-based intervals or a flat rate.
"Our work with Eaton is an excellent example of how we are extending the
versatility of our ePort technology and services to the unattended kiosk
market," commented Michael Lawlor, Senior Vice President of Sales and
Business Development for USA Technologies. "We believe that kiosk
solutions are growing in both popularity and functionality fueled, in
part, by improved wireless capabilities and the ability of kiosk
consumers to use forms of payment other than cash. USAT's turnkey
approach to cashless, which was specifically designed for the unattended
space, takes the complexities of cashless off our customers' hands,
enabling market leaders like Eaton to focus on what they do best," said
"Eaton was looking for a supplier that could provide an end-to-end
solution, including a compact, PCI compliant card processing solution
for a truly stand-alone commercial electric vehicle charging station,"
said Tracee Humes, product manager, Eaton Electric Transportation
Infrastructure. "Eaton found that USAT not only met this need, but they
had the proven experience in small-ticket transactions and the turnkey
suite of services required by our electric vehicle charging operators."
USAT's front end solutions such as ePort, ePort SDK or QuickConnect—a
new Web service API—combined with USAT's comprehensive ePort Connect
service provides kiosk developers and manufacturers a wireless and
secure platform for cashless payment and remote data collection.
